Broadcast Journalism

Teacher: Mr. Yacco
Location: Room B-6

Goal
This one semester course will help students develop basic radio and television journalism skills as a prerequisite for taking the Media Academy's Radio-TV Production I course. These skills also apply to college courses and entry-level jobs in the broadcasting industry. The course will help students enhance their ability to communicate their observations through the development of scripts and the production of radio and television news stories.

The skills students develop through this course will be applied to the planning and/or creation of radio and television programming for Internet, broadcast and cable distribution, and may contribute to the creation of DVD projects including the Media Academy video yearbook.

Upon successful completion of the course students will have a portfolio of radio and television projects they have collaboratively helped to create.
